Manchester United hopes to stop Arsenal from greatest start ever

First-place Arsenal travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United Sunday at 11:10 a.m. ET on NBCSN. With a victory against Manchester United, Arsenal would post their best ever start to a Premier League season with 28 points through 11 matches. What a sweet victory this would be for the current defending champions? What a way to get their season turned around by denying a hated rival a new level of glory?

David Moyes has certainly had his share of critics, but a win here would certainly lower the temperature of his hot seat considerably.

Telemundo will also telecast Manchester United vs. Arsenal on Sunday.

Not a lot of people thought Arsenal would be in the position they’re currently in, back in the summer when all the experts were forecasting the PL. And as for United, not many expected the regime change after Sir Alex Ferguson to get off to such a rocky start. Rumors of the Red Devils demise have been greatly exaggerated. Yet they need a strong showing here over an opponent residing near the top of the standings.

Here’s the television information:

NBC Sports Group’s lead Premier League play-by-play announcer Arlo White will call Major League Soccer playoffs this weekend. Steve Bower, English soccer commentator and one of the voices for BBC’s Match of the Day, will fill in for White. Bower joins former Arsenal defender and four-time league champion Lee Dixon to call Norwich City v. West Ham United on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Bower and Graeme Le Saux, the former Premier League star who played in 36 international matches for England, will call Manchester United v. Arsenal on Sunday at 11:10 a.m. ET on NBCSN.

All matches will be preceded and followed by Premier League Live pre- and post-match shows from the NBC Sports Group International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Rebecca Lowe hosts Premier League Live alongside former English footballer Robbie Mustoe and former Jamaican National Team player Robbie Earle.
