Bill O’Brien is REALLY FOCUSED on Michigan

When Penn State Head Coach Bill O’Brien joined the Big Ten conference call yesterday unintentional hilarity ensued.

He took “coachspeak” to a whole new level on Tuesday as he worked the same phrases “really focused on Michigan” or “focus on Michigan” into every response he could. He had five variations of it, within the first three minutes.

Reading in between the lines you can infer from the audio that Bill O’Brien had zero interest in doing this press conference.

You can tell from the audio, via the Big Ten Network’s homepage, that he was in a terrible mood at the time. Likely from the PSU loss to Indiana; the first time the Hoosiers have ever beaten PSU. Thankfully for everyone involved, Bill O’Brien was released early from his slotted time with the media, as the teleconference ran out of  questions.

Saturday’s match-up between Penn State and Michigan has still has a lot of sizzle, but very little steak this year. It sounds better on paper than it actually will be. The two college football programs rank among the 12 schools nationally with at least 725 all-time victories.

The Wolverines own a 10-6 edge in the series between the teams with the nation’s biggest stadium capacities. Beaver Stadium is the second-largest stadium in the country with a capacity of 107,282. And the Big House in Michigan can house over 115,000. As such, Penn State and Michigan are always among the top 5 nationally in attendance every year. This will be the first contest versus Michigan for Bill O’Brien.

In other Penn State news, not at all Bill O’Brien related, the son of Jerry Sandusky, Cleveland Browns executive Jon Sandusky, was arrested for DUI this morning.
