Since we already took a look at the Milwaukee Brewers new-look offense, let’s take a peek at the starting rotation which returns all five guys from the division-winning team of last season.

The Suds Series II started out with a bang as the Milwaukee Brewers took out the St. Louis Cardinals 9-6 to jump to a 1-0 game lead in the 2011 NLCS.

Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder continued their reign as the MLB’s best one-two-punch while combining for six of the Brewers’ nine total runs.

Starting pitcher Zack Greinke didn’t have his best stuff, but still picked up the win. Greinke has yet to lose a game at Miller Park and has moved to 12-0 at home in 2011.

Time to Blow Up the Minnesota Twins Pitching Rotation

brian duensing

The Minnesota Twins are evidence of Murphy’s Law taking effect this season. Whatever could have gone wrong certainly has for the ball club. That is why it is time for pitching coach Rick Anderson to take his approach and turn it upside down. Some say, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” This staff is busted into a million little pieces right now.

Analyzing the Milwaukee Brewers Off-Season

Missing the playoffs in the last two seasons has felt like a wasted opportunity for the Milwaukee Brewers organization. While boasting one of the best offenses in the major leagues in 2009 and 2010, the Brewers have finally realized the need to bolster their lackluster pitching rotation.

With hard-hitting Prince Fielder in the last year of his contract, the Brewers have pushed all of their chips in to add starting pitchers Zack Greinke and Shaun Marcum.

With pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training on Wednesday, let’s take a closer look at the blockbuster deals and a couple of other transactions the Brewers partook in to make the pitching better during the off-season.
