Cubs Unveil Winner of Public Address Announcer Tryout: Andrew Belleson


Andrew Belleson will be the new voice at Wrigley Field, ending a three-week search that included 2,954 applications from 48 states and Canada on’s search to be the new public address announcer. Belleson arrived in Chicago today to close the deal and meet the media at 4 p.m. CT. The news release was sent out at 3CT (way to be with the heads up, advance notice there Cubs PR!)

Wally Hayward, exec. VP, sales and maketing, Chicago Cubs released this statement. “

It was a very difficult decision, as there were so many quality PA announcers who applied from across the country. After hosting two live auditions of finalists here at the ballpark, we have selected Andrew Belleson as the new voice of Wrigley Field and welcome him to the Chicago Cubs family.”

How Many People Applied to be the new Cubs Public Address Announcer?


Some people are going to be really busy over in the professional offices at 1060 W. Addison for the next few weeks.

As many know, the Chicago Cubs decided to have what can be described as an open casting call for their next Public Address Announcer. So, the Cubs have told basically everyone with a computer:

“Hey, you can be the next voice of the Wrigley Field!”

Hey, it doesn’t get any fairer than that.  But can you imagine how many audition tapes have been made this week?
