Wisconsin Runs Over Purdue 62-17 (Rapid Reaction)

The #20 Wisconsin Badgers returned to their winning ways with a 62-17 shellacking of the Purdue Boilermakers. Running Back Montee Ball led an offense that racked up 605 total yards, including 364 via the ground.

The #15 Wisconsin Badgers national title hopes may be dead, but their Big Ten title hopes are well and alive. Their route to the inaugural Big Ten Championship and a BCS bowl hits another potential barricade this weekend when they take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Wisconsin Badgers Are Rose Bowl Bound

With a 70-23 trouncing of the Northwestern Wildcats, the Rose Bowl committee has seen enough. They should and most likely will invite the Wisconsin Badgers to the 2011 Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA.

An invitation would mark the Badgers’ first trip to the elite New Year’s Day Bowl since beating Stanford 17-9 in the 2000 Rose Bowl. Ironically enough, the Badgers may face off with #6 Stanford who appear to be a legitimate at-large option for a BCS bowl this season.
