With the NBA trade deadline approaching Thursday afternoon, the first domino has fallen in what has been a very quiet and uneventful week thus far. Rumors were swirling about the Orlando Magic trying to acquire Monta Ellis in hopes of pairing him up with Dwight Howard. Instead the Golden State Warriors have traded Ellis to the Milwaukee Bucks in a five-player deal that will send Andrew Bogut to the Bay.

The NBA Lockout has frozen everything exciting about the off-season; no trades, no free agency, no “The Decisions.” And depending on what is negotiated by the owners and players in a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the rules of free agency and trades could forever be altered; especially if a discussed hard salary cap is in fact instated.

Like we are currently seeing in the NFL, the 2011 NBA off-season is up in the air with a lockout looming. Free agency could be delayed and completely restructured depending on the new agreement reached by the owners and players.
