Jimmy Fallon fans whine about overtime hockey game on Twitter

The Jimmy Fallon’s show “Late Night” was pushed back because of the triple overtime game one thriller between the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins. Needless to say, fans of Fallon were not thrilled.

They don’t care that it’s Stanley Cup Final game one:

Illini basketball players Twitter dark; wisely avoiding haters and trolls

You may have wondered why no Illini basketball players have been tweeting lately. And it wasn’t because they were on a hot streak. Illini basketball won five in a row before blowing a second half lead to the #7 Michigan Wolverines. And none of the players took to Twitter afterward. Illini basketball head coach John Groce decided to keep his players of Twitter on February 6th.

I can’t say for certain when going Twitter dark ends, but I assume it won’t be until after the end of the college basketball season. And in my humble opinion, or IMHO in Twitter-speak, it’s a very good idea. Receiving 140 character expressions of hate and hostility led Illini leading scorer Brandon Paul (a member of the 1500 point club and 10th leading scorer in school history) led BP3 to post this:

Chicago Cubs social media strategy articulated on social media night

On Wednesday May 16th the Chicago Cubs hosted their inaugural Social Media Night. Fans who purchased tickets were invited to a pregame social media panel at Wrigley Field’s Captain Morgan Club. And by social media, we obviously mean the discussion was Twitter heavy.

The panel consisted of Chicago Bears kicker Robbie Gould (@RobbieGould09), (more on his night here) Cubs.com writer Carrie Muskat (@CarrieMuskat) and Cubs Public Relations and Marketing Specialist Kevin Saghy (@Cubs).

Each person was given a swag bag that included a Cubs “social media” t-shirt, a copy of Vine Line magazine, a teeny foam finger, a voucher for a hot dog and a multi-card set of Cubs “Social Media Series” baseball cards featuring Cub players that are on Twitter.

Bears Kicker Robbie Gould will take you out to dinner, follow him on Twitter

Chicago Bears placekicker Robbie Gould is one of the more interesting and articulate athletes out there. When his days draining field goals are over, he has a bright future in broadcasting. Wednesday night, when the Chicago Cubs hosted the Philadelphia Phillies, Gould was part of a three person social media panel.

He cracked jokes, dropped one-liners and made an announcement that if when he gets about 500 more Twitter followers, he’ll take his fans/followers out to dinner with him at Public House. He currently has 45, 508 (@RobbieGould09), when he hits 46,000 he’ll treat for food.

Gould also threw out the first ball and sang the seventh inning stretch at Wrigley Field during the Cubs 9-2 loss.

Josh Hamilton and Matt Kemp Are Threats For The Triple Crown

Matt Kemp and Josh Hamilton

It’s still “early” in baseball terms, but Josh Hamilton and Matt Kemp have done nothing but put on shows. Their superb play has gotten more attention than Philip Humber’s perfect game. Hamilton and Kemp are going for the Triple Crown in their respective leagues. The Triple Crown is revered, by many, to be the greatest single-season accomplishment in all of baseball.

Link Bank 6-20-11: Amanda Bynes, Blake Lively Shark Diving, BORING Tweeters

Actress Amanda Bynes insists she has “no regrets” about posting intimate messages and pictures on Twitter.com, because she only reveals details she would tell an interviewer.

The “Hairspray” star quit the social networking site last year but has since rejoined and regularly uploads revealing comments about her personal life. (San Francisco Chronicle)

She actually has two Twitter accounts here and here. This pic of her is pretty hot. So are the photos I choose for this post.
