The NBA trade deadline was somewhat overshadowed by the opening day of March Madness.  Still, there were a plethora of moves made in the final hours as teams tried to make a last ditch effort to bolster their roster or build for the future.  Here are the trade deadline losers.

Timberwovles Officially Fire Rambis; Top Coaching Candidates Move On

infamous for a recruiting scandal, the Minnesota Timberwolves have confirmed reports that they have fired head coach Kurt Rambis.

It was originally rumored that Rambis would be fired after last month’s draft concluded. But over the past three weeks a move was never made.

After a three month debacle by Timberwolves General Manager David Kahn, it is now official that Rambis is out as head coach of the Timberwolves. [Read more…]

Draft Day Scenarios for the Timberwolves

What to do at number two?

No, it’s not the beginning of a Dr. Seuss book; it’s the NBA draft dilemma that Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations David Kahn is faced with just hours before Thursday’s draft.

Rumors have swirled for weeks about the options that Kahn and company have with the second overall selection. [Read more…]

Nash to the Timberwolves? Makes Sense For Both Teams

On paper, Steve Nash to the Timberwolves seems like it would never work. Especially if the main trade chip being sent to Phoenix is Jonny Flynn.

That trade seems less likely than coach Eric Taylor and Vince Howard’s dad becoming friends. (Yes, I’m watching the NBC version like it’s in real time.)

I would argue Nash to the Timberwolves makes great sense for both the Suns and the Timberwolves.

Kemba Walker Is A Perfect Fit For The Minnesota Timberwolves

If I had one wish for the 2011-12 Minnesota Timberwolves it would be to have University of Connecticut’s Kemba Walker wearing the Blue and Black of the Timberwolves.

While ESPN’s Chad Ford currently has Walker sitting 10th in his newest top 100 NBA draft prospects, I believe his talent is second to none in this class.

While I may be slightly biased as my Kemboner has reached new levels this past week. The numbers he has put up in the Big East tournament have never been seen before, making Walker a great addition to a Wolves team that is in desperate need of an electric scorer from the guard position. Timberwolves, Kahn Miss the Boat at the NBA Trade Deadline

The NBA trade deadline came and went with the Minnesota Timberwolves only making a minor move to acquire Anthony Randolph from the New York Knicks.

While it was a low-risk, high-reward move, it was a trade that I thought would open the flood gates.

Jonny Flynn rumors flied around all day during Thursday’s deadline, yet the Wolves never pulled the trigger.

While moving Flynn would’ve made a ton of sense, it was a move the Memphis Grizzlies attempted to make that forced me to question Kahn’s stance on the future. [Read more…]

Rubio, Mayo; T’Wolves Rumor Mill Swirling

The Wolves’ record dropped to 8-25 after Wednesday night’s 119-113 loss to the Denver Nuggets. But throughout the season they have shown that they may be just a move or two away from becoming a playoff contender for the 2011-12 season.

Over the past 24 hours a whirlwind of rumors have surrounded the Minnesota Timberwolves, and as Wednesday as an indicator, the Wolves may in fact be close to making these moves happen.
