Welcome to The Sports Bank’s third annual college basketball season preview series.  Two years we looked at 99 teams in 99 days.  Last year, we were slightly more aggressive and expanded to 111 teams in 111 days and will do so again as we look ahead to the 2012-2013 season.

We will rank the 75 power conference teams and top 36 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order.  We’ll break down rosters, transfers, incoming freshmen, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.

The Texas A&M Aggies were supposed to contend for a conference title in their final year in the Big 12.  Instead, A&M finished as one of the most disappointing teams in the country.  It is hard to imagine how they can turn things around as they begin their maiden voyage as members of the SEC.

Welcome to The Sports Bank’s second annual college basketball season preview series.  Last year we looked at 99 teams in 99 days.  This year, we are being slightly more aggressive and expanding to 111 teams in 111 days.  We will rank the 74 power conference teams and top 37 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order.  We’ll break down rosters, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.

99 in 99: #57 Texas A&M Aggies

texas a&m

Since going winless in the Big 12 during the 2003-2004 season, Texas A&M has not finished with a below .500 conference record.  They have appeared in the NCAA Tournament in each of the last five seasons, winning their first round game each time.  However, the Aggies have only once made it past the opening weekend.  Rather than turning the page this season though, the Aggies might end up taking a step backwards.

The Sports Bank’s “99 in 99” ranks the 72 power conference college basketball teams and top 27 mid-majors for the 2010-2011 season.  It will provide with all you need to know about each team and lead right up to the opening tip of the season.  Click here if you missed teams #58-#99.
