Welcome to The Sports Bank’s second annual college basketball season preview series.  Last year we looked at 99 teams in 99 days.  This year, we are being slightly more aggressive and expanding to 111 teams in 111 days.  We will rank the 74 power conference teams and top 37 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order.  We’ll break down rosters, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.

During last season, it seemed very likely that the Ohio State Buckeyes would lose all five starters.  However, Jared Sullinger and William Buford chose to return to school rather than enter the NBA Draft.  Those two will anchor a young, but very talented team that should once again be in national title contention and could possibly be even better than last year’s team that won 34 games.

Amir Williams and Shannon Scott Will Give Ohio State Great Depth Next Season

Thad Matta is quietly doing a fantastic job of keeping Ohio State a perennial power not just in the Big Ten, but in all of college basketball.  Adding McDonald’s All-American‘s Shannon Scott and Amir Williams to the fold next season will only add to the Buckeye’s core and once again make them one of the top teams in the country.

Ohio State Inks 3 in Latest Recruiting Class


Thad Matta, Ohio State head coach, announced the addition of three student-athletes to the Buckeye men’s basketball program Wednesday. The class of high school seniors is rated by analysts as a Top 10 class nationally.
