Too early to give up on the Milwaukee Brewers making the playoffs?

Just a mere seven months ago, the Milwaukee Brewers were the 2011 National League Central Champions and a serious contender for a trip to the World Series.

Now, twenty seven games into the 2012 regular season and the Brewers (12-15 record) couldn’t look any further from that team who broke numerous franchise records and captured the hearts of baseball fans all over Wisconsin.

With four serious injuries and an inconsistent line-up, maybe it’s time to give up on Milwaukee realistically making the playoffs.

Brewers Win NL Central and Become Must Watch TV for October


Brewers fans rejoice as your team is headed to the playoffs for only the third time in franchise history. Unlike 2008, this is no wild card berth, but rather a division title, their first since moving to the National League in 1997.

It’s been 29 years since the Brewers have won a division title, a feet they accomplished once before in 1982 when they took home the AL East crown.

“For us to win the division I think is a little more meaningful than winning the wild card. It really means a lot. It’s special,” said Ryan Braun who had the three-run home-run on Friday to propel the Brewers past the Marlins 4-1. [Read more…]

The Milwaukee Brewers have had their trouble on the road this season (7-15 record), particularly the offense which averages only three runs a game away from Miller Park.

Most of the Brewers pitchers are struggling with the apparent lack of run support, but not Shaun Marcum.

In his last five starts on the road, Marcum has given up only two earned runs in 34 innings for an ERA of 0.53.

Milwaukee Brewers Finally Win With a Heavy Dose of Gallardo


All of the Milwaukee Brewers fans out there can now let out a sigh of relief as the team finally pulled out their first win of the season. After starting the season at 0-4, the Brewers blanked the Atlanta Braves 1-0 on Tuesday night.

While the bats were still not there, young hurler Yovani Gallardo pitched a masterpiece. His complete game shut-out/two-hitter may have been exactly what the Brewers needed.
