The Oklahoma State Cowboys showed they are going to be a team to reckon with this season by demolishing N.C. State in the championship game of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.  As a result, their two star players did wonders for their 2013 NBA Draft stock.  Here is a look at which players helped or hurt the draft stock in Puerto Rico.

#73 Oklahoma State Cowboys: College Basketball 111 in 111

Welcome to The Sports Bank’s third annual college basketball season preview series.  Two years we looked at 99 teams in 99 days.  Last year, we were slightly more aggressive and expanded to 111 teams in 111 days and will do so again as we look ahead to the 2012-2013 season.

We will rank the 75 power conference teams and top 36 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order.  We’ll break down rosters, transfers, incoming freshmen, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.

Travis Ford has picked up a pair of elite recruits in the each of the past two seasons.  For the Oklahoma State Cowboys to get back on track this year in the new look Big 12 Conference, both LeBryan Nash and Marcus Smart will be asked to be major contributors.

Taking the glass half-full approach, the Oklahoma State Cowboys did win twenty games last season.  Looking at the remaining emptiness in that glass, a winless road record in Big 12 play ultimately doomed Travis Ford’s team as they missed out on the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in the last six seasons.  A trip to the dance again seems unlikely for O-K State.
