Michigan State Uniforms to Feature Leonidas Quote at Thermopylae

THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!!!!

Or at least, this is what they wear in the most militaristic city-state in human history. What King Leonidas said to the Persians at the battle of Thermopylae (no, it was not “Tonight we dine in hell!” or “then we shall FIGHT in the shade”) will now be inscribed on the Michigan State Spartans jerseys.

“Molon Labe,” the Spartans’ defiant challenge to the Persians translated as “come and get them!” is seen on the back of the collar. The Spartans are one of nine teams chosen to wear the innovative Nike Pro Combat system of dress for the 2011 season.

The world’s leading sportswear concern unveiled its next generation of Nike Pro Combat uniforms and cleats that top collegiate teams University of Oregon, Boise State University, and University of Florida are expected to wear as they take the field in this season’s upcoming bowl games.

The Pacific Northwest based sportswear corporation unveiled its next generation of Nike Pro Combat uniforms and cleats that top collegiate teams University of Oregon, Boise State University, and University of Florida are expected to wear as they take the field in this season’s upcoming bowl games.

Texas Christian University (TCU) will be debuting the new Air Zoom Alpha Talon cleat with a new version of their current 2010 Nike Pro Combat Uniform in Pasadena, California, January 1, 2011 when they take on the Wisconsin Badgers in the Rose Bowl.
