If your feeling a bit lost without the NCAA basketball tournaments, you’re in luck. A form of March Madness is still out there.  Catch it now!   The 2013 Frozen Four is here, from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  The national semifinals will take place on Thursday, April 11.  The championship game will be Saturday, April 13.  All these games will be televised on ESPN 2.  To learn who is playing, and who will take home the NCAA hockey title, continue after the jump.

Michigan Star Louie Caporusso Signs With Ottawa Senators

Caporusso Signs Two Year Contract With Ottawa

 

Michigan Wolverines hockey star Louie Caporusso has signed a two year entry level contract with the Ottawa Senators.  Caporusso, 21, was a third round pick of the Senators in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, the 90th overall pick that year.  Caporusso spent four year in Ann Arbor playing for the Wolverines, including a trip to the national title game this past season.

The world of college hockey descends upon the State of Hockey this weekend to crown a new NCAA hockey champion at the 2011 Frozen Four in St. Paul, Minnesota.  This year’s field is one of the deepest in recent memory, both in terms of talent and tradition.  Michigan, Minnesota Duluth, North Dakota, and Notre Dame are all looking to skate their way to a national title on the biggest state in college hockey.  The Frozen Fourum has all you need to be schooled on the college game.  Let’s take a look at the evening semifinal between the North Dakota Fighting Sioux and the Michigan Wolverines.

NCAA Tourney Hopes Still Alive For 20th Ranked Gopher Hockey Team

The Minnesota Gopher Hockey team is playing its best hockey of the season at the right time.

 

A program that was once a staple of the NCAA Frozen Four, winning the National Championship in 2002 and 2003, has struggled to get back to the Mecca of college hockey.

 

The last two seasons the Gophers have watched the 16-team NCAA tournament from the comfort of their Dinkytown homes. Their last Frozen Four appearance was back in 2005.

 

While reaching this season Frozen Four is still a long shot for the 20th ranked Gophers, getting back into the field of 16– which was at one point this season a long shot– seems more than realistic. [Read more…]
