Farewell, Minnesota Wild- you were very boring to watch anyway

Chicago Blackhawks vs Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild were eliminated last night by the Chicago Blackhawks and have taken their rightful place in the footnote section of the 2013-14 NHL season. That is where they belong, and for the second time in as many seasons, Zach Parise and company watched as Patrick Kane, Corey Crawford, and the defending Cup champs skated off the ice knowing that they get to play at least four more games.

There is no doubt that Blackhawks fans/people unfamiliar with the Minnesota Wild underestimated their ability to skate and challenge the Hawks, but there was very little the Wild could do to sway opinion in their favor in a seven game series. What Chicago Blackhawks fans should expect in game 6 and beyond

Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks had to hold on to home ice advantage against a surging Minnesota Wild team, and they did. I won’t waste time with the newspaper game recap story atuff and get to my analysis of the past few games.

Corey Crawford showed why he is one of the more trustworthy goaltenders in the playoffs and the league. Crawford’s game four was less than memorable, and I mentioned on 87.7 FM’s ‘Dylan and Doyle Show’ that #50 would have to win this game.

He did, and now the Hawks head to Minnesota with a chance to close out the series.

The wannabe North Stars eliminated the defensively inept Colorado Avalanche, who despite winning the newly arranged Central Division, regressed in time for when the lights shone brightest upon them.
