Milwaukee Bucks Media Day showcases new players, high expectations

Note: This is the first in a series of posts previewing the Milwaukee Bucks 2010-11 season, their newest players, emerging leaders, and overall expectations.

The Milwaukee Bucks‘ Media Day on Monday saw at least double the swarm of reporters from last year, and that’s as good of an indication as any of the heightened expectations and notoriety the Bucks face as they begin training camp for the 2010-11 season.

After all the schedule examinations, statistical predictions, and offseason trade, draft and free agency analysis, the key has officially been turned to start warming the engine on the Milwaukee Bucks 2010-11 season.

A Renewed Milwaukee Bucks-Chicago Bulls RIVALRY this Season

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Chicago Bulls

Tomorrow, NBA teams will open training camps and begin practicing; meaning we can now officially state that the new season is here, and with it the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks enter a new level of competition in their natural rivalry, as they are expected to jockey for the top spot in the Central for the first time in over 20 years.

Wisconsin and Illinois sports fans have no problem gushing about their hate for the other state’s teams. After all, half the fun of being a sports fan is rooting against a rival team as much as you pull for your favorite.

The yearly Green Bay PackersChicago Bears clash (coincidentally tonight, you might have heard a thing or two abot it) will always dominate headlines and interest regardless of both teams’ success, and the Milwaukee BrewersChicago Cubs fighting for fourth place (at best) bragging rights in the NL Central.

Bucks GM John Hammond may have one more transaction up his sleeve

Within two hours on Monday, the Milwaukee Bucks filled out their 15 man roster by trading for power forward Jon Brockman and inking veteran point guard Keyon Dooling.

But even though it seems that GM John Hammond can finally sit back, light a cigar, and call it an offseason, one of the above acquisitions may be foreshadowing one final transaction to complete his work.
