Wolverines Land Top Recruiting Class in Big 10; Top 10 Nationally

The Wolverines Sugar Bowl win over Virginia Tech is reason for optimism, especially considering that it came in the first year of what many U of M fans hope is a long and illustrious tenure for head coach Brady Hoke. But it would be premature to say that Michigan is now ready to compete for national championships on a yearly basis.

Yet unlike the previous three years, in which wolverines’ fans despaired over the failed Rich Rod experiment, the Maize and Blue appear to be trending upward. An 11-2 season was a good start, but Hoke has continued to impress by assembling what appears to be one of the nation’s top recruiting classes.

5-Star Recruit Kyle Kalis De-Commits from Ohio State

Another unexpected blow came to the 2012 recruiting class, as Kyle Kalis has told Luke Fickell that he has de-commited and re-opened his recruitment. There is a lot of upside to Kalis, for he is a tough, strong lineman who dominates consistently.

Breakdown of Potential Ohio State Head Football Coaching Candidates

The NCAA is set to determine the fate of the Ohio State football program on August 12 and while no one knows exactly how hard the Committee on Infractions will come down on the Buckeyes, it is safe to say a number of sanctions are well within the realm of possibility.  Couple the upcoming hearing with the fact that Ohio State will be headed into the 2011-2012 season without their head coach of the past decade, their former starting quarterback headed to the NFL (CFL UFL?), and their No. 1 wide receiver, running back and starting offensive tackle gone for the first five games of the season and you have what we in the biz like to call uncertainty.
