Northwestern takes Michigan State Down to the Wire

Although the final outcome was still a loss, it was a much more exciting and interesting loss to Michigan State this time for Northwestern, who took one of their toughest Big Ten opponents down to the final possession.

No wants to believe in nor accept moral victories, but losing to the #18 Spartans, when your star forward John Shurna (the Big Ten’s leading scorer) is clearly not anywhere near himself, is not the worst thing in the world.

Kalin Lucas’ NBA decision soon awaits

INDIANAPOLIS- Remember back to 1999, a time when Ricky Martin and really annoying “boy bands” were oppressively popular? Back then Michigan St. had a star point guard who had a monster junior season in leading his team to the Final Four. Mateen Cleaves, remember him? The guy who wore ugly Bill Cosby sweaters when injured on the bench, pondered jumping to the NBA before returning to East Lansing, and leading the Spartans to the Final Four. This year, another junior point guard is facing the same question.

2010 Point Guard Prospects

The 2009 NBA Draft was all about the point guards.  11 were drafted in the first round and that doesn’t count Tyreke Evans who will likely run the point in Sacramento.  However, the balance of power will sway in the 2010 Draft as the point guard class will likely be very weak.  In-coming Kentucky freshman John Wall will be the cream of the crop and should be number one overall pick.
