Rays Manager Joe Maddon drops “P Word” at Presser (video)


Here’s a video with some naughty language that may or may not be SFW; depending on where you work. Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon speaking to the media on Joel Peralta‘s ejection, and he uses a word that’s slang for vagina. So you may be offended.

Heck even using the word “vagina” caused some people to get offended a few days ago. So when you use the “more raw” terminology…just watch, especially at the 0:43 mark.

Sox John Danks Inspires Pitching Theory

You’ve heard of Ewing Theory? But what about John Danks Theory? Yes, the struggling Chicago White Sox starter has seen his career fall off a cliff in 2011. His season has been a train wreck of all train wrecks, but at least his name has given birth to a theorem. It’s not the “Mendoza Line” but it is, according to Fangraphs:

a lineup strategy employed by Tampa Bay Rays’ manager Joe Maddon. After having little success against changeup artists like Dallas Braden, Shaun Marcum, and of course, John Danks, Maddon went against the natural platoon split and began starting more like-handed batters against these types of pitchers. The intention behind this method appeared to be neutralizing his opponent’s best weapon, which was thrown more to batters of the opposite hand.

Belichick to Maddon: Solidarity, my fellow Hoodie wearer

If you’re obsessed with that hooded sweatshirt you wear, you’re in an elite fraternity of NFL and MLB head coaches. New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick made an overt expression of his solidarity with Tampa Bay Rays head man Joe Maddon. BB’s letter and gift to Maddon conveyed “although both you and I are oppressed because of our wardrobe dominated by hooded sweatshirts, we must struggle together, and the establishment will not defeat us!”
