Welcome to The Sports Bank’s third annual college basketball season preview series.  Two years we looked at 99 teams in 99 days.  Last year, we were slightly more aggressive and expanded to 111 teams in 111 days and will do so again as we look ahead to the 2012-2013 season.

We will rank the 75 power conference teams and top 36 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order.  We’ll break down rosters, transfers, incoming freshmen, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.

2011-12 was a banner year for the Murray State basketball program, posting a 31-2 overall record and winning their third straight Ohio Valley Conference.  Even though the Racers lose three starters and one key reserve, Steve Prohm returns All-American Isaiah Canaan and MSU is still the team to beat in the OVC.

BracketBusters Schedule Headlined by Unbeaten Murray State vs. St. Mary’s

ESPN released their 2012 BracketBusters schedule which features some of the best mid-major programs in the country going head-to-head in hopes of improving their NCAA Tournament resume.  The headliner this year features the lone remaining unbeaten in college basketball, Murray State hosting Top 20 team, St. Mary’s.
