NBA draft scenarios for Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers are staring the end of the Larry Bird era in the eyes right now.

The 2011-12 NBA Executive of the Year announced his decision to step down as team president Thursday, but he’s not quite done yet.

Bird will conduct the Pacers’ draft alongside Donnie Walsh, who returns to Indiana as president, and newly promoted GM Kevin Pritchard.

The trio could go several different directions, including standing pat with their No. 26 overall pick or wheeling and dealing to move up.

Chris Paul Traded to L.A. Clippers for Gordon, Kaman, Aminu and Draft Pick

Chris-Paul

The NBA has reached an agreement, in principle, to end the Chris Paul drama. Just ten days and change to the start of the season and CP3 didn’t even know what team he was going to be on. Yes, the Los Angeles Clippers will get to keep Blake Griffin, and still have one of the best point guards in the league.

According to the sources of Yahoo! Sports:

The league-owned New Orleans Hornets will receive guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the Minnesota Timberwolves’ unprotected 2012 first-round pick in return for Paul.

As part of the deal, Paul has agreed to not opt out of his contract after this season – allowing the Clippers to keep him at least through the 2012-13 season.

Hornets Chris Paul Bombs on Family Feud (Video)

Welcome to NBA Lockout world, where lack of news happens. Chicago Bulls wing Kyle Korver saving the life of a snapping turtle was probably my favorite minor story becoming a major story of the lockout thus far. This might be #2.

You can still watch your favorite NBA stars play on television; just not play basketball.

New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul was on Family Feud yesterday and he performed- well very poorly. The Paul family lost to the O’Hara family, 358-70. CP3 doesn’t look impressive giving any of his answers in this clip put together by Daily Thunder.

New Orleans Hornets Secure A NBA Playoff Berth

While it wasn’t always pretty, the New Orleans Hornets played like a playoff team when it mattered most. After allowing a season-high 38 first quarter points Wednesday night to Southwest Division rival Houston, the Hornets were able to claw their way back to a 101-93 victory, clinching a playoff berth.

Despite winning only 37 games last season, witnessing the turnover of more than half the roster, playing for a rookie head coach, enduring a turbulent ownership transfer and rumors of relocation and also losing key players like Emeka Okafor, Trevor Ariza and David West for large chunks of the season, the Hornets will be going back to the playoffs for the sixth time since relocating to New Orleans.

“Coach [Monty Williams] just kept believing and kept fighting and we’re here,” Chris Paul said after the game.

The Chicago Bulls’ Tom Thibodeau and the New Orleans Hornets’ Monty Williams today were named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Coaches of the Month, respectively, for games played in January.

Thibodeau led the Bulls to a 12-4 record on the month, including a 90-79 win over the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics on Jan. 8. The Bulls have gone 11-0 against Central Division opponents, and are the only team in the NBA without a division loss. Chicago’s 44.5 rebounds per game rank second in the NBA, and its 92.0 points allowed per game rank third.
