#22 Gonzaga Bulldogs: College Basketball 111 in 111

Welcome to The Sports Bank’s third annual college basketball season preview series.  Two years we looked at 99 teams in 99 days.  Last year, we were slightly more aggressive and expanded to 111 teams in 111 days and will do so again as we look ahead to the 2012-2013 season.

We will rank the 75 power conference teams and top 36 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order.  We’ll break down rosters, transfers, incoming freshmen, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.

Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!  Gonzaga’s streak of 11 straight WCC regular season titles ended last year when Saint Mary’s knocked the Zags off their throne.  In typical Mark Few fashion, he’ll have the Bulldogs in conference championship contention and competing on the national level.

Welcome to The Sports Bank’s second annual college basketball season preview series.  Last year we looked at 99 teams in 99 days.  This year, we are being slightly more aggressive and expanding to 111 teams in 111 days.  We will rank the 74 power conference teams and top 37 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order.  We’ll break down rosters, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.

11 straight conference championships.  14 twenty-plus win seasons in a row.  13 consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament.  It will be business as usual for the Gonzaga Bulldogs as they should remain the kings of the West Coast Conference even with the arrival of BYU.  Unlike recent years though, the Zags will rely on their veteran frontcourt as they go through some transition at guard.

99 in 99: #23 Gonzaga Bulldogs

Gonzaga cheerleader

The first nationally televised college basketball game is exactly one week from today.  This week, most teams get on the court for exhibition play… a.k.a. beating up on some D-2 or D-3 school to knock the rust off your tires.  (Unless of course you are Syracuse last year.)  The fact that we are this close to the tip of the season makes me happier than Survivor cast members when they have won a food reward.

The Sports Bank’s “99 in 99” ranks the 72 power conference teams and top 27 mid-majors.  Gonzaga is technically a mid-major but their basketball program has proven it can hang with the big boys and will once again play like a Top 25 team.  Click here if you missed teams #24-99.
