Chicago Cubs announce final cuts; set opening day roster


The Chicago Cubs set their Opening Day 25-man roster in advance of the 2012 season opener versus the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field today. The Cubs have selected the contracts of right-handed pitcher Shawn Camp, infielder Blake DeWitt and outfielder Joe Mather. Outfielder Tony Campana and right-handed pitcher Casey Coleman have been optioned to Triple-A Iowa. Left-handed pitcher John Gaub was claimed off waivers by Tampa Bay.

Cubs Settle Arbitration with Six Players- SEXY HEADLINE!


The Chicago Cubs agreed to terms on one-year contracts with six players to avoid salary arbitration: infielders Jeff Baker, Blake Dewitt and Ian Stewart; catcher Geovany Soto and right-handed pitchers Chris Volstad and Randy Wells.

I know this is story isn’t very exciting. Not really the best or most important of MLB players here. And who wants to ever read about the finer points of collective bargaining. That’s why I included plenty of pics of hot Cubs girls here.

Chicago Cubs: Total Implosion Commencing?

Back in the ‘80’s, Old Milwaukee Beer used to have a tag line that said, “Boys, it just doesn’t get any better than this.”

Well, “Cubs fans, it just doesn’t get any worse than this.”

And the sad thing is that it can get worse, but that just doesn’t seem possible at this moment.  The two games in the Queen City versus the Cincinnati Reds were gut wrenching, vomit-inducing atrocities.   Wednesday night’s game provided a brief respite.

I am an optimist, but this team is taking it out of me.  So, with that said, let’s go rambling.
