College basketball teams are experiencing more year-by-year turnover than ever before due to: graduation, players leaving early for the NBA Draft, and transfers galore;   Here are five teams who made the 2013 NCAA Tournament this season but will likely take a step back next year and have their work cut out for them if they want to return to the Big Dance.

It was a rather tame first day of the college basketball super-buffet that is NCAA Tournament’s first day. Well, until the Harvard Crimson broke brackets everywhere and everyone pretended to be a Harvard fan on Twitter for 15 minutes. And then ESPN slobbered all over the Ivy-Leaguers making it even worse. However, the college hoops Christmas gave us this:

#59 Colorado State Rams: College Basketball 111 in 111

Welcome to The Sports Bank’s third annual college basketball season preview series.  Two years we looked at 99 teams in 99 days.  Last year, we were slightly more aggressive and expanded to 111 teams in 111 days and will do so again as we look ahead to the 2012-2013 season.

We will rank the 75 power conference teams and top 36 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order.  We’ll break down rosters, transfers, incoming freshmen, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.

Tim Miles helped the Colorado State Rams come from nowhere to earn the team’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in nearly a decade.  Miles moved on to greener pastures but the team lured Larry Eustachy from Southern Mississippi to lead a team that should knock on the door of another trip to the dance.
