Raptors Preparing for Life Post-Bosh

Barring a crazy turnaround or some impressive convincing on management’s part, Chris Bosh will not be returning to Toronto next season.  Now, the Raptors will have to replace their star player in what will be a critical off-season for the franchise’s future.

Real Season Begins NOW for New York Knicks

As expected, it was another rough year for the Knicks franchise as they suffered through their ninth straight losing season.  However, it was almost accepted by their front office and fan base as the true season for the Knicks begins on July 1st when the NBA free agency period begins.

Every single move the Knicks have made post-Isaiah Thomas has been geared up to clear cap space so they could be a major player this off-season.  That’s why New York dealt their 2009 first round pick Jordan Hill and a 2011 first round pick to the Rockets just so Houston would take on Jared Jefferies salary for next season.  In the process, the Knicks acquired Tracy McGrady who was a free agent.  New York now enters the off-season with only four players under contract next season and a boatload of cap space.

Where Will Chris Bosh Land this Summer?

While every NBA team with tons of cap space will be targeting LeBron James and Dwyane Wade as the main prizes in the much anticipated 2010 off-season, Chris Bosh will not be a terrible plan B.  The Raptors free agent has emerged into one of the most talented and versatile big men in the NBA.  This past season, he set career-highs in points and rebounds per game, and field goal percentage.

While Bosh’s name has been linked to possibly ending up in the same spot as LeBron or D-Wade, Bosh has stated time and time again that he wants to go some place where he can be the alpha dog and not the number two option.  Teams have a decision to make this off-season; put all their eggs in the ‘Bron or Wade sweepstakes and possibly miss out on landing Bosh or make Bosh their number one priority from the get-go to prove he is the player they covet.
