Having a Stanley Cup should help you Pick Up

I know a lot of dudes who use props of some sort when they hit the bars trolling for booty. And although almost all of these props don’t usually accomplish the intended “one goal,” you have to give some of the guys I know a little credit for being creative. Besides Vancouver Goaltender Roberto Loungo has nothing on a girl who goes out on a Friday night with the sole intention of just getting guys to buy drinks for her. Good luck with your “shots” there.

But our good friends at are back with a great story about the flirting prop of all flirting props. Read on to see Kaner’s (KANER!!) hilarious comment

It’s not often a 117-year-old icon hits the club scene — but last night Lord Stanley’s Cup cruised over to Hollywood for a night of mayhem with Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane.

Celebrating Blackhawks Stanley Cup in Streets of Chicago (Video)

So this is how the cliche “they’re dancing in the streets”originated. Or perhaps you prefer the even more shopworn “with thousands of your closest friends.”

I told my friends watching the game with me Wednesday night, ever see “Gangs of New York?” Remember when Leo DiCaprio tells Cameron Diaz, the night before the riot: “get ready, this town’s gonna burn.” I had that feeling after Patrick Kane scored a goal that no one realized was a goal, to clinch the Stanley Cup for the Blackhawks and the city of Chicago.

As much as I enjoyed this Blackhawks season, and the fact that they took care of business tonight, the most profound lesson I took away from this is…I’m definitely not a kid anymore.

Stanley Cup win makes Blackhawks, Patrick Kane bonafide Rockstars

blackhawks-stanley cup

It’s fitting that Patrick Kane (KANER!!!), the face of the Chicago Blackhawks franchise (and Team USA Hockey) was the man who scored the Stanley Cup clinching goal in overtime. And it was a goal that absolutely NO ONE watching on television was actually aware off.

Hell, most of the people on the ice didn’t even know it was an actual goal at the time. And this was huge for Kaner, who became a rock star last summer when he made headlines for getting drunk and then getting arrested for beating the crap out of a cabbie in his hometown of Buffalo.

That was his first hit single. But tonight was his masterwork supported by an orchestra.
