Like we are currently seeing in the NFL, the 2011 NBA off-season is up in the air with a lockout looming.  Free agency could be delayed and completely restructured depending on the new agreement reached by the owners and players.  Still, The Sports Bank continues to break down all thirty NBA teams to see what areas they need to address in the off-season.

The Denver Nuggets more than held their own after the blockbuster trade that sent Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups to the New York Knicks. Still, the team has some critical decisions to make this off-season about some of their younger talent.

Timberwolves, Kahn Miss the Boat at the NBA Trade Deadline

The NBA trade deadline came and went with the Minnesota Timberwolves only making a minor move to acquire Anthony Randolph from the New York Knicks.

While it was a low-risk, high-reward move, it was a trade that I thought would open the flood gates.

Jonny Flynn rumors flied around all day during Thursday’s deadline, yet the Wolves never pulled the trigger.

While moving Flynn would’ve made a ton of sense, it was a move the Memphis Grizzlies attempted to make that forced me to question Kahn’s stance on the future. [Read more…]

Cavs Trade Mo Williams to Clippers for Baron Davis

This is not a very early April Fool’s joke.  According to multiple reports, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers are swapping points guard Mo Williams and Baron Davis.  This is an insanely idiotic deal for the Cavs but a brilliant move for the Clips.  You read that right, the Los Angeles Clippers basketball franchise just made a tremendous trade.

Carmelo Anthony FINALLY Traded to Knicks

The first NBA trade deadline domino fell late Monday evening when Carmelo Anthony was finally dealt to the Knicks in a three-team trade involving twelve players.  Thank goodness because I was getting LeBron-Decision-like sick of all the rumors, reports, and speculation flooding ESPN‘s airwaves.  After weighing his options of the Knicks, Nets, or possibly staying with the Nuggets, ‘Melo decided New York is where he wanted to be.  Here’s a breakdown of the deal.

Melo blockbuster lands Timberwolves young, athletic Anthony Randolph

The New York Knicks finally got their guy.

Late Tuesday night the Denver Post reported that the Knicks acquired superstar forward Carmelo Anthony from the Denver Nuggets in a blockbuster three-team trade.

The Knicks receive a package based around Anthony, but also includes veteran point guard Chauncey Billups.

For the Nuggets, their package is based around emerging point guard Raymond Felton, up-and-coming wing Wilson Chandler, and Italian wing and budding star Danilo Gallinari.
