Hinkle Fieldhouse to get more national attention Saturday

The movie “Hoosiers” made it famous, but Butler’s 2010 National title game run made it a tourist destination. I made my first visit to the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse four years ago when I covered the Final Four for the Washington Times. Tomorrow I return to cover my first ever game at the basketball mecca. Northwestern at Butler will be the first nationally broadcast game on Fox Sports this season.

It leads directly into coverage of the Big Ten Football Championship Game, held just a few miles down the road at Indianapolis’s Lucas Oil Stadium.

NCAA Title Game Preview

INDIANAPOLIS- 2010 has been perhaps the most exciting NCAA Tournament in recent memory. This March madness is yet another example of why the college hoops postseason is the best postseason around. It doesn’t need fixing; college football’s pathetic excuse for a postseason does.

The run up to this Final Four featured comebacks, upsets, and many incredibly close games.  And will the title game be the grandest of all? Will we, to quote Vanessa Williams, “save the best for last?” Probably not. These are definitely two good teams, but don’t be surprised if Duke wins by 15+
