The #1 storyline surrounding Notre Dame football this preseason is who will be the #1 quarterback, as senior Dayne Crist battles sophomore Tommy Rees for the coveted QB1 gig. Crist opened 2010 as the starter, but went down in midseason with injury. Rees took over and finished the season 4-0, leading to the QB controversy we have today. Crist is bigger and taller, with a … [Read more...] about Potential Notre Dame Starting QB Tommy Rees Grew up a Northwestern Fan

Brian Kelly, Notre Dame Football Media Day Highlights
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been practicing for 10 days already, but the ND annual Media Day was held Tuesday, and Head Coach Brian Kelly, was in rare form. His opening included joke I will start by saying that they are ticketing out back. I am a big proponent in 'quid pro quo,' meaning I can take care of a lot of tickets here. If you want to make that first … [Read more...] about Brian Kelly, Notre Dame Football Media Day Highlights
Notre Dame Defense: Too Early 2011 Season Preview
In 2010, the Notre Dame defense improved dramatically over its 2009 output, making big leaps in scoring defense (63rd nationally to 23rd), interceptions (50th to 19th) and sacks (89th to 54th). Those numbers come mostly from the final four games, when they seem to just "get it," a stark contrast from the first nine games where they showed potential but were also very … [Read more...] about Notre Dame Defense: Too Early 2011 Season Preview

He's been the king of drama (at least among the players) when it comes to college football in South Bend these past couple of years. Obviously, there's been plenty of outside the roster drama with Lizzy Seeberg and Declan Sullivan in 2010-11, but Floyd's … [Read more...] about Michael Floyd Still in Notre Dame Football Limbo; but Cleared to Workout

Notre Dame Spring Game Observations/Summary
The South Bend, Indiana weather didn't exactly cooperate with Notre Dame today. Wind, rain and cold greeted the 82nd-Annual Blue-Gold Game, won by the Gold 17-14. The spring college football intra-squad game was broadcast live nationally on Versus. It drew 27,863 to Notre Dame Stadium. Not bad for the abysmal weather conditions.
