NFL’s Best at Every Offensive Position

Larry Fitzgerald Fantasy Football

With one week left to go in regular season play, fans usually fall into one of two categories at this juncture.

There is either increased intensity because of an imminent postseason run, or there is a malaise due to unmet expectations.

The fantasy component or monetary wagers can assist in making the games relevant for some. I have decided to hand out my honors a week early, so the winners don’t have to wait on pins and needles for the accolades. I wouldn’t want it to affect their play in the final week.

Plus, those on teams with nothing to play for might see limited time and therefore, mediocre statistics affecting their overall yearly numbers.

Giants Benching of Ahmad Bradshaw is Quite Puzzling

ahmad_bradshaw

New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw has only played in nine games this season. The fifth year Marshall product is averaging four yards per carry thus far and is an effective contrast to the bruising style of Brandon Jacobs. Keeping the defense on its toes is a major factor in the effectiveness of any offensive unit in the NFL.

My favorite hobby while viewing any sporting event is dissecting the coaching moves made by both sides. Tom Coughlin certainly could be labeled as “old school.” There are obviously strengths and weaknesses that come with this moniker. He damaged his team’s chance of winning the game on the road in Arlington on Sunday night by being this way.

Week 5 Fantasy Football Rankings: Bye weeks begin

Fantasy football is about more than assembling your favorite players on one team. This week, with six teams on a bye week, strategy element of the game begins to set in. While a week to rest might be good for the players, it’s certainly a headache for fantasy owners.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Rankings: Put up or shut up

We’re three weeks into the fantasy football season and the surprises just keep on coming. Cam Newton and Matthew Stafford are top-10 fantasy quarterbacks. Coe College alum Fred Jackson is the third best fantasy back. And how about Scott Chandler, who had one catch before this year, picking up four scores in the first three weeks. But much like business, it’s not what you did last week; it’s what are you going to do for me now. So let’s look into the crystal ball and find this weeks surprise, shall we?

Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings: The Injury Bug Bites

It shouldn’t surprise any of us. In a game as violent as football, injuries are bound to happen. Top-5 pick Jamaal Charles is out for season. Miles Austin is out until October 16th. Let’s not even get started on Peyton Manning.  Much like their professional counterparts, fantasy owners need to find ways to fill the void left by their injured players. Included in this week’s rankings, I’ll list some guys that could step in for your injured star this week.

Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings: Building on a strong week

If we learned one thing about the NFL in week one: the lockout certainly did not slow down the offensive numbers.  A ridiculous 14 quarterbacks had more than 300 yards, four of which went over 400. 13 receivers topped 100 yards, including seven double-digit touchdown performances. Needless to say, fantasy teams weren’t suffering. Now it’s time to build on that success and dominate week two of the fantasy season.

Week 1 Fantasy Football Rankings: Football is Back!

We endured an offseason consisting of men in suits walking in and out of buildings. We endured a three-month stretch when the work “lockout” might as well have been preceded by a four-letter word. But courtrooms, politics, and league lawyers are now a thing of the past. Because ladies and gentleman, we’re finally here! The start of the NFL season is here!

Fantasy Football Experts Mock Draft:Round 5

fantasy football

Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 Round 6

Round 5 Pick 1

Ryan Lester- Lester’s Legends

Pick: RB Joseph Addai IND

Taking a rookie RB, even if he is in a great situation like Mattews, is a bit risky. Addai is a productive back, and perhaps even more important, one that Manning trusts. He can produce on the ground and through the air. Quality RBs are drying up, meaning I wouldn’t get a good RB3 the next time my picks swing around, so I am filling the need now.

Round 5 Pick 2

Vin Sadicario- FF Toolbox

Pick: TE Dallas Clark IND

With no sure things left on the board at running back, I decided to go with the top tight end available. Clark is the safest tight end on the board, as he does not have the question marks surrounding him, as some of the other top options do. I will gladly take Clark at the top of the fifth round, as it is unlikely that any of the top tier tight ends will be around when I pick next.
