#12 Duke Blue Devils: College Basketball 111 in 111

Welcome to The Sports Bank’s third annual college basketball season preview series.  Two years we looked at 99 teams in 99 days.  Last year, we were slightly more aggressive and expanded to 111 teams in 111 days and will do so again as we look ahead to the 2012-2013 season.

We will rank the 75 power conference teams and top 36 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order.  We’ll break down rosters, transfers, incoming freshmen, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.

Here’s a major reach of a statement; The Duke Blue Devils are going to be good this year.  (Although they were good last year and shocked in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament by 15 seed Lehigh.)  Do they have enough talent to be a true title contender though?  I just don’t see it.

Duke and N.C. State favorites to land Amile Jefferson; decision expected Tuesday

With the late commitments from top high school basketball recruits in the 2012 class like Nerlens Noel to Kentucky, Shabbaz Muhammad and Tony Parker to UCLA, and Anthony Bennett’s recent decision to attend UNLV; there are still two McDonald’s All-American left to pick a school.  The suspense will come for Amile Jefferson as he is expected to announce his decision on Tuesday.
