Wade and Bosh signing with Miami puts Bulls in Very Rough Spot

bulls

With the announcement that Chris Bosh and Dwanye Wade will be teammates in Miami, Chicago Bulls fans need to be like Al Gore and realize a very inconvenient truth. The top 3 free agents are NOT coming to Chicago. Tomorrow night’s “very special episode of the Lebron show” will likely yield the announcement of King James staying in Cleveland. There are rumblings he’s going  to New York, but really, he’s going to stay put in his hometown. It’s the only place where they intentionally built a practice facility closer to his home.

And with Amare Stoudemire going to the Knicks, and Dirk Nowitzki, Rudy Gay and Paul Pierce re-upping with their current teams, the Bulls have effectively lost out on the top seven free agents. (Depending on how you rank players 5-7 in this free agent class)

So what do you do now? How do you effectively stop disappointment from degenerating into disaster? You can still salvage something substantial from this free agency period.

It’s Not LeBron or Bust for Chicago Bulls this Offseason

gar_forman_bulls

We all know that LeBron James is the ultimate prize this NBA offseason. And we all know the Chicago Bulls are, if not THE front-runner, one of the front runners to acquire his services. We’ve already heard the rumor that King James and Chris Bosh are a “done deal.” Only to later hear that rumor debunked. But don’t regard this summer of free agency love as a complete loss should the King establish a new court in some place other than Chicago.

Obtaining the best player in the NBA is the goal, and the best of all outcomes. However, there are still plenty of other prizes available should the Bulls not land one of 2010 free agency’s “big three” (James, Bosh, Dwanye Wade).

We can start by looking at the small things the Bulls have accomplished already.

Like the 2010 NBA Draft, the 2010 class of free agent point guards is weak.  How weak?  Luke Ridnour is the third best free agent point guard set to hit the open market.  No joke.  Teams can begin communicating with free agents on July 1st, so allow The Sports Bank to provide your in-depth guide on what’s going to be happening in the next couple of weeks.

By: David Kay

Now that the Miami Heat have been eliminated from the NBA playoffs, let the Dwyane Wade sweepstakes officially begin!  Wade and LeBron James headline a free agent class that is the most hyped in the history of the league and the off-season wooing should be more entertaining than anything that occurred on the court this past season.

Several teams have been jockeying their salary cap situation for a couple years, waiting for the slim opportunity to land one of the superstars by offering the max contract.

So has Wade played his last game in a Miami Heat uniform?  If so, where will he be calling home next season?  Allow me to break down which teams have the best odds of luring the former Marquette All-American to their team.
