Raw video of Orange Krush and Illinois basketball fans erupting on Illinois’ 10th point, a jumper by Joseph Bertrand, to end ‘Orange Hush’, an ode to Taylor University’s ‘Silent Night’ tradition (Illini coach John Groce’s alma mater). Nov. 8, 2013.
It seemed odd to be there and have the Hall be so silent for the first 3:56 of the Illinois basketball game. Rather eerie. And when you remember it’s a Low-Major opponent, you’re kind of like “what’s going on here?” Then when the Illinois basketball fans explode, it’s really cool. You’re like “when did everyone show up here!”
Watch the video below of the Orange Hush Explosion:
Illinois basketball opened it’s 109th season by improving to 96-13 all time in season openers. It’s the 15th year in a row that Illinois basketball won it’s season opener. In 52 years at the Assembly Hall, Illinois basketball is 44-8 in home-openers. Overall in Illini history they are 94-15 in home-openers.
