Verified official Twitter accounts are almost always boring. Certainly so with professional sports team accounts. Not everyone with a blue check mark can Tweet like Donald Trump or Kanye West. However, the official accounts of Arsenal and Barcelona were very entertaining today as their UEFA Champions League clash draws near.
Barca and the Gunners got into a Twitter fight over who can stake a more legitimate claim to Thierry Henry‘s legacy.
Barca got the party started first-
He was a star for @FCBarcelona and @Arsenal, but here’s @ThierryHenry at his best for us. #AFCvFCB https://t.co/zQy9LYopPy
— FC Barcelona (@FCBarcelona) February 22, 2016
Arsenal responded:
Not bad @FCBarcelona, but what about this @ThierryHenry classic for @Arsenal? #AFCvFCB https://t.co/PfVxU31lHV
— Arsenal (@Arsenal) February 22, 2016
The giant football club having a Twitter version of a rap battle continued with
@arsenal That was @thierryhenry at his best… but have you seen this one before? #AFCvFCB https://t.co/rxn2tMHIOI
— FC Barcelona (@FCBarcelona) February 22, 2016
Yet another response
Vintage @ThierryHenry, @FCBarcelona… but we can go one one better with this unbelievable strike at Highbury #AFCvFCB https://t.co/DXkwSdEFzT
— Arsenal (@Arsenal) February 22, 2016
And the finale parting shot in the Thierry Henry highlights Tweet debate went to Arsenal who offered this
.@FCBarcelona Well, @ThierryHenry always was a man with a taste for the spectacular… #AFCvFCB https://t.co/01zWeXEE0w
