Nebraska Cornhuskers Coach Bo Pelini was on the Big Ten Network tonight to discuss the latest Huskers recruiting class made official on National Signing Day. After the talk of signees and commits, Bo Pelini was asked a funny curveball by BTN’s Mike Hall.
Regarding “his cat”
It’s of course in reference to the fake Bo Pelini Twitter account, @FauxPelini who is hysterical and acerbic. He has about 75,000 followers and deservers 75 million, because he’s that entertaining.
Pelini has come a long way in the past few months. At end of the season, he was in serious danger of losing his job. His final press conference of the regular season was like a real life version of Nick Nolte’s final scene in “Blue Chips.” But Nebraska retained him, and here is joking about cats and fake Twitter accounts.
The Pelini conversation wasn’t the only colorful talk out of the Big Ten on Signing Day.
Illini Coach Tim Beckman took a direct shot at his instate rival Northwestern. This, despite the fact Pat Fitzgerald secured his highest rated recruiting class ever. Not to mention every recruiting evaluation service places Tim Beckman’s haul as second to last in the Big Ten.
