Tom Brady is the all time NFL Draft “Horatio Alger” story. As a sixth round pick, the New England Patriots did not expect much from him. No one in the entire NFL did.
Considering that the NFL Draft is only seven rounds long, at pick #199 he came very close to going un-drafted in 2000. Had that occurred, the University of Michigan graduate would have faced very long odds to catch on in the NFL as a free agent.
Of course, the history of football wrote a very different story.
In the retro spirit of this Throwback Thursday, Tom Brady made a notable posting on his official Facebook page.
“Found my old resume! Really thought I was going to need this after the 5th round. #tbt”
Brady captioned the photo.
The three time Super Bowl champion, two time Super Bowl MVP and two time NFL MVP was an intern at Merrill Lynch before his professional football career began. He was also a sales rep for not one, but two golf courses.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that this resume probably would not have been enough for Tom Brady to land Bridget Moynahan or Gisele.
