We poked a lot of fun at NFL icon Charles Woodson in the preseason when he picked the Oakland Raiders to win the Super Bowl, and Khalil Mack to win the MVP back in the preseason.
His picks look more astute and insightful now don’t they? It wasn’t just blatant HOMERISM by Woodson for his former teammates last season as he began his career as a NFL Analyst for ESPN. While we still have plenty of issues with a lot of the Charles Woodson punditry body of work, we’re still very very excited about NFL Network’s Charles Woodson: A Football Life.
Woodson is the most recent defensive player to win the Heisman, and given the state of the award process these days, he’ll probably be the last. Coincidentally, another Michigan defensive back, now classified first and foremost as a linebacker, but a player of several positions, Jabrill Peppers, was named a Heisman Trophy finalist.
He’s one of five who got an invite to New York, but he’s not expected to win, or or even finish second. He’ll probably coming in fourth or fifth, when all is said and done.
Charles Woodson: A Football Life debuts Friday, December 9 at 9:00 PM ET
