Today’s 2-1 triumph in the FA Cup semifinal over Southampton is a certainly a really nice moment for Chelsea, who have had a rough go of it in 2018. They’ve won just five of their 13 Premier League contests and been eliminated from both the League Cup and Champions League since the calendar flipped from 2017 to 2018.

“We gave everything, we played very good football especially in the second half and controlled the game,” star forward Eden Hazard told BBC Sport after the match.

BVB Openly Want to Sign Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea Permanently

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi had a tale of two seasons, as he got playing time and thus regained his scoring touch upon moving to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January. Batshuayi became “the Batsman” again, until a serious ankle injury ended his season early. Despite the injury, Dortmund remain impressed, so much so that they are not even trying to hide their interest in acquiring the forward permanently.

Antonio Conte Rejects Comparisons of His Record to Jose Mourinho’s

jose mourinho antonio conte

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte rejects the notion that his tenure at Chelsea can or should be compared to Jose Mourinho’s first spell with the club. It’s not surprising that Conte would distance himself from anything at all connected to Mourinho, given the ugly row, and prolonged war of words between the two men that began 2018.

Conte believes that Mourinho’s first go around with Chelsea, and the current status quo are two different eras, apparently alluding to the amount of money spent on players in the transfer windows. He also pointed out he won a title last season, his first year on the job, while inheriting a team that finished just tenth the previous season.

Chelsea FC head to the Turf Moor for a midweek evening Premier League clash at Burnley FC. This match has some league relevance as Burnley are just two points behind Arsenal for sixth place, and a Europa League berth next season.
