Marcos Rojo Reveals the Nasty Head Injury he Suffered in Derby

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has revealed the gruesome head injury that he suffered during the Manchester Derby this past Sunday. The Argentine took a knock on the noggin from a collision with Manchester City superstar David Silva. Rojo’s head started bleeding, and he had to leave the pitch in order to get his wounded cleaned and treated.

Marcos Rojo did come back into the game, won by City 2-1, but was subbed off at half time.

Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay Handed Rare Premier League Game Starts

It’s not often that midfielder Scott McTominay and defender Luke Shaw see themselves handed a first team appearance. However, both youngsters were named to the starting XI for Manchester United’s home clash against AFC Bournemouth tonight. Usually, these are names that we only see during smaller cup competitions.

Wednesday’s inclusion of the duo sends a couple of clear messages. First, Luke Shaw will be given his chances to prove himself and earn a spot, amidst all the transfer rumors claiming the young Englishman is out the Old Trafford door this January.

Jurgen Klopp Reveals Mo Salah Injury Scare, Defends Rotation

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that he had to remove his leading scorer, Egyptian winger Mo Salah, from the Merseyside Derby due to an injury scare. Klopp came under much scrutiny for removing his player of the year candidate, and only goalscorer in the 1-1 draw, in the 67′.

The German had to make this switch in order to prevent a hamstring issue from degenerating into a serious injury.

When it comes to the Manchester Derby, both the clash on the pitch and the tunnel fracas that ensued afterward are now over. However, Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues the war, now via words. The Manchester United striker has once again taken aim at Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Ibrahimovic played under Guardiola at Barcelona from 2009 until 2010. In an interview today with Sky Sport Italia, Ibra called the City Manager the most immature person that he’s ever played under.

Any time you turn a Michigan State basketball game on this year, keep an eye on #5, the Spartans head-band wearing point guard named Cassius Winston. By the time his career in East Lansing is over, he might reside in the rarified air with Magic Johnson and Mateen Cleaves. MSU has an extremely storied tradition at the one- Scott Skiles, Kalin Lucas, Eric Snow, Drew Neitzel, Denzel Valentine (on occasion) to name a few.

Of course, Cleaves and Magic are on another level as they won a national title. Maybe Cassius Winston joins this elite of the elite club this April?

Jose Mourinho Maintains His Players Acted Properly in Post Derby Bust-Up

Damage control continues on both sides following the post Manchester Derby brawl, the specifics of which still remain in some dispute. The Football Association is looking into the altercation between Manchester United and Manchester City players, coaches and staff following City’s 2-1 win at United this past Sunday.

United manager Jose Mourinho addressed the bust-up, or melee, or fracas or incident or whatever you want to call it at his midweek match preview news conference.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is not messing around, nor is he pulling any punches. He’s laying it all out on the line, and telling it like it is. Pick your cliche, epigram or maxim, because the “numbers don’t lie.”

Manchester City continues on their record setting pace this season, looking unbeatable right now. They have a very healthy lead over the defending champions Chelsea right now, and it would take a seismic shift in the current momentum in order to see the Blues successfully defend their league title this season.

Paul Pogba Reveals Why He Choose Man United Over Real Madrid


Paul Pogba will serve the second of his three match ban tomorrow night when his Manchester United teammates host A.F.C. Bournemouth. With his forced days off, the Frenchman has the chance to joint the Beyond the Pitch podcast, and reflect on #Pogback.

It was the football story of summer 2016- Pogba returning to United for a then world record £89.3 million. The deal was certainly the best of times for his agent Mino Raiola, and it polarized opinion throughout the international football community.

Jurgen Klopp Does Not Regret Ripping Reporter, Officiating

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp does not have angry regrets at all about what he had to say after his side drew with Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday. Klopp took aim at both the officiating and the Sky Sports reporter interviewing him, Patrick Davison, telling the media personality that he only wanted “to talk to people who have a little bit of an understanding of football.”

Klopp then immediately apologized, right in the midst of the interview, as he clearly realized that he had just made a major mistake.

It’s an extremely quick turnaround for Manchester United as they host A.F.C. Bournemouth tomorrow night, about 72 hours after their 2-1 loss in the most hyped up Manchester Derby ever. If there is to be a Premier League title race this season, then United have absolutely no margin for error, and they have to hope that City starts dropping some points with regularity.
