NFL Network’s Michael Irvin spoke with Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton for an interview on NFL Network’s NFL GameDay Morning, Here are some of the more poignant excerpts.
On whether or not Indianapolis is the perfect city for him:
“Yes, Indy is a perfect fit. I love the city. I love everything about it and it’s quite just the way I like it. You don’t have to worry about hearing the gun shots before laying your head down; you don’t have to worry about that anymore.”
On playing with a chip on his shoulder:
“I’ve been an underdog my whole life. Teams passed up on me when I was sitting on the board. I’ve seen the receivers that went before me. Were they better than me? No. So whatever team that drafted me, I was going to make the other 31 pay no matter what. That chip on my shoulder will never ever go away because that’s how I play the game.”

And after the game, T.Y. Hilton barely fought back the tears while talking to CBS after the Colts’ win, and the touchdown he had promised to his baby girl.
All in all, a pretty great birthday for Gigi. T.Y. Hilton made an homage to her in his touchdown celebration.
On his two kids’ reaction to his “T.Y.” touchdown celebration and where he got it:
“They love it. Once I hit the end zone, they start doing it with me. I got it from T.O. – I saw him do the “T.”
