Notre Dame sideline reporter Alex Flanagan, also a NFL Network personality, will be covering the 2014 Winter Olympiad in Sochi. Here’s an excerpt of the NBC Sports Group releases as it pertains to Alex Flanagan:
CROSS-COUNTRY: Al Trautwig returns to NBC for his 10th Olympic assignment with the network and 15th Olympics overall, as the cross-country skiing play-by-play announcer. In addition to his work on biathlon, Chad Salmela will work as the analyst, and Alex Flanagan will be the reporter at cross-country. Trautwig and Salmela will also cover the cross-country phase of Nordic combined.
You can follow Alex Flanagan on Twitter @ Alex Flanagan. She has a Facebook fan page as well.
The University of Arizona graduate is reportedly six feet tall. By the way, she also once admitted in an interview that sideline reporters are not necessary. Just confirming what I already knew.
