The Detroit Pistons will host an open practice, very rare for a NBA team, at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday, October 5 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., giving fans their first look at the 2013-14 Detroit Pistons team. Admission is free. This is quite rare for a NBA team to open up their practices to the fans.
The event will feature a three-point shooting competition with the winner being awarded a trip for two to the 2014 NBA All Star Game.
The first 1,000 fans will take home a Detroit Pistons.
It will be the first opportunity for Detroit fans to see new renovations at The Palace, watch newcomers Josh Smith, Brandon Jennings, first-round selection Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Gigi Datome in action on the court. First-year head coach Maurice Cheeks will lead the practice and scrimmage beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Practice will include player introductions, entertainment from the Detroit Pistons performance teams, and meet and greet opportunities with the Detroit Pistons Dancers.
