Al Michaels and Apolo Anton Ohno will headline NBC’s Sochi Winter Olympics coverage. The announcement was made during NBC Sports Group’s presentation at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. Al Michaels will host daytime Winter Olympics coverage on NBC Sports Network (weekdays) and NBC (weekends).
Al Michaels is known for his NFL Monday Night and Sunday night football coverage. As well as his famous “Do you believe in miracles? Yes!” call at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics. He’s known for getting a DUI as well.
Ohno, the most decorated Winter Olympian in U.S. history, has eight medals (two gold) over three Olympic Winter Games. He has retired from short track speed skating and will serve as an analyst for NBC’s coverage of the sport. He’s also a pitchman for Subway these days.
