Every year, thousands of websites display their personal rankings and cheat sheets. I’m just not a fan. Does it really matter where I have DeSean Jackson ranked on my cheat sheet? I’m not touching him in drafts, since I’d have to take him way earlier than I want to. So why even bother ranking him? Personally, I’d rather make predictions that are much more tangible. After reading the following predictions, you can tell me how much of an idiot I am, proclaim me as a genius, or ask back the 10 minutes of your time that I just wasted. The choice is yours. But without further ado, I bring you the 2010 Fantasy Football bold predictions….
By: Justin Mertes-Mistretta
- Miles Austin will finish the year as the #1 overall WR.
- Tony Romo finishes as the #1 overall QB with over 4,500 yards and 38 TDs.
- Marion Barber finishes with more fantasy points than Felix Jones.
- Dez Bryant will NOT finish as the best rookie WR.
- DeSean Jackson finishes outside of the top-15 WRs.
- Brent Celek will lead all TEs in receiving yards.
- Santana Moss will break 1,000 yards receiving.
- Mike Shanahan will start three different running backs by week 10. Shocker!
- Brett Favre will not only come back, he will lead the Vikings to a Super Bowl victory (okay maybe it’s not a fantasy prediction, but it’s bold none-the-less).
- Adrian Peterson will have his best fantasy year to date and finish as the #1 overall RB.
- Jahvid Best wins offensive rookie of the year: 1,200 total yards, 40 catches, 8 total TDs.
- Matthew Stafford finishes as a top-10 QB.
- Aaron Rodgers will finish outside the top-5 QBs (largely due to injury).
- Jonathan Stewart will finish with better numbers than DeAngelo Williams.
- Pierre Thomas will finish with 1,300 all-purpose yards and 12 total TDs.
- Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald will both finish outside of the top-10 WRs.
- Brandon Marshall will lead all WRs in catches and TDs.
- Shonn Greene will be a consensus first-round fantasy pick by next year.
- Tom Brady will finish under 28 TDs and 4,300 passing yards.
- However, Wes Welker will catch 100+ balls for the fourth straight season.
- Joe Flacco will finish with more fantasy points than Philip Rivers.
- Terrell Owens records over 1,000 receiving yards.
- Jerome Harrison finishes as a top-15 RB.
- Arian Foster scores double-digit touchdowns.
- Jacoby Jones will lead the league in yards per catch.
- Pierre Garcon will lead all Colts WRs in receiving yards.
- Donald Brown will put up betters numbers than Joseph Addai.
- Dwayne Bowe and Jamaal Charles will finish in the top-10 at their respective positions.
- Zach Miller will not only lead his team in receiving yards and TDs, he will also finish as a top-5 TE.
- I will manage to draft a break-out player, only to sell-high and watch as he leads someone else’s team to a league championship (isn’t it weird how I talk like this has happened before?)
- With the first pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select….
- What’s a prediction article without a Super Bowl prediction? Vikings over Ravens, 27-24.
