Laura Okmin of Fox Sports has more than 15 years of broadcast media experience. Before joining Fox, she was an anchor on CNN/Sports Illustrated.
She came on as the Midwest region correspondent working from the Chicago bureau.
Before joining CNN/Sports Illustrated, Okmin was a reporter and anchor for SportsChannel Chicago.
Remember Sports Channel?
The predecessor to Comcast SportsNet Chicago and the replacement of sports vision?
Laura Okmin is a big national name now, but from October 1995 through September 1996, she anchored both the 30-minute and 60-minute sportscasts, covered the Bears and conducted live post-game interviews for the duration of the Bulls playoff run.
Thus she did a lot of work during the Michael Jordan era Bulls.
An honors student at the University of Kansas, Okmin received her bachelor’s degree in journalism.
