Illini football Coach Tim Beckman was at Nike Town on Michigan Avenue in Chicago today to help promote the new Illinois athletics re-brand by Nike. The new uniforms were revealed yesterday.
I had an exclusive conversation with Becks where we talked about those uniforms, but also next fall’s team, specifically the quarterback competition.
How’s Wes Lunt progressing along? Why didn’t Aaron Bailey get more playing time last year. How come Bailey didn’t pass more?
What exactly does that phrase “The State of Chicago” actually mean? What’s the latest in the QB derby?
All of these questions are answered, and there’s much much more in our Tim Beckman podcast. Listen below.
Sorry, I forgot to do the Steaks and Cakes bit! Tim Beckman and the Illini have a very favorable schedule this year. They open with a lot of very winnable home games. I fully expect Becks and company to get off to a very fast start to put themselves in a position to try and make a bowl game.
