It promises to be a very exciting summer transfer window at Tottenham Hotspur, with plenty of potential comings and goings. So, let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today.
-A Gareth Bale return in the works? While it is not yet set certain the Welshman will leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, his departure is reportedly somewhat likely. Obviously, the greatest hero of the UEFA Champions League Final match will have no shortage of suitors.
The Independent says that Spurs could have advantage over other clubs in that Gareth Bale would be willing to give them a former club discount in price.
The publication writes that Spurs could “launch an audacious bid to bring the star back to the club this summer, with the 28-year-old’s representatives set to meet with Real Madrid to sort his future out this week.”
While that narrative could be gaining in momentum, the Christian Pulisic links seem to be diminishing, as the American’s father has rubbished all transfer rumors. He claims there is no there there regarding Wonder Boy and Spurs; also Manchester United and Liverpool too.
“He was linked to Tottenham. Last week it was Liverpool. The week before Man United. The week before this… it’s hogwash,” he told Sky Sports.
“He’s linked with a different club every week. I have no idea. His agent right now is working and looking, in close relation with me and Christian, and we’re just trying to see what the best phase of his next development will be.”
“Now is the time that the season has just ended and we’ll sit down with Dortmund, we’ll sit down with, I don’t know whether other clubs are in the mix, [and see what] Dortmund’s idea is and their plans for Christian. But there’s nothing concrete.
“Right now, Christian plays for Dortmund and that’s where he is planning on playing again next year.”
-Finally, what about the back-up goalkeeper situation? Michel Vorm is likely moving on via a free transfer now that his contract has expired. In terms of finding a new inhabitant for the roster spot just below Hugo Lloris, the Daily Mirror now has a report claiming Spurs are keeping close tabs on Southampton keeper Alex McCarthy.
