Tottenham News: Heung-Min Son, Christian Pulisic, Erik Lamela, Preseason Tour

It continues to be a very interesting summer at Tottenham Hotspur, with a whole lot going on. While we still have a bit of time until the preseason exhibition games begin, but there is certainly no shortage of news topics to discuss today.

So let’s take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet this weekend.

The Tottenham Hotspur travel squad for the preseason tour of the United States hasn’t been officially announced yet, but star players Christian Eriksen, Heung-min Son and Davinson Sanchez have all returned to the club following a break after the World Cup. According to the Evening Standard the trio are “in contention to go on the club’s pre-season tour of America.”

The triad will likely join the rest of the squad in flying out to the United States on Sunday. The squad will obviously not include the nine members of the team who reached the World Cup semi-finals; as they are now on extended holiday.

-Speaking of Son, on Friday he signed a new five year contract extension that will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2023.

Meanwhile Argentine Erik Lamela, 26, has also penned a contract extension.

Lamela signed a deal that adds four more years, and keeps him in north London until 2022.

-Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Christian Pulisic is in Chicago right now set to take on Manchester City, in a friendly at Soldier Field. Pulisic responded to a question about the transfer rumors surrounding him, as he’s been linked to Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

“It’s not distracting at all to me. I don’t pay too much attention to it,” Pulisic told the media at a very noisy sponsored event Thursday (he was not made available during normal media opportunities).

“Right now I’m focused with Dortmund. I want to have a good preseason. That’s all I can focus on right now.”

It’s the same thing every summer for transfers.
We NEVER make that major signing.. always looking for bargain basement players.
When players sign a new contract it’s made to look like a new signing???
We have vastly improved from 4 years ago but have hit a wall… we can’t seem to get a stronger squad so that we can improve more…or am I wrong?
