Christian Pulisic, the American international deemed “wonder boy” by USMNT legend Alexi Lalas, has a very bright future. During the past two seasons at Borussia Dortmund, he’s seen his market value rise spectacularly.
Pulisic has been linked to several of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Premier League perennial leaders Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. Now, according to a report in German magazine Kicker, (The Sun is also reporting interest from the White Hart Lane outfit).
Tottenham Hotspur have thrown their hat in the ring, making a £43.9m ($58m) bid for the 19-year-old attacking player.
Now, if only Manchester City expressed an interest, then Pulisic would be wanted by the entire top six. BVB, if they are interested in letting him go, wouldn’t do so on the cheap. Pulisic was recently named to the short list for Europe’s Golden Boy Award, which is bestowed upon the top player under 21.
He is under contract with Dortmund until June 2020, but his addition at White Hart Lane could be exactly what manager Mauricio Pochetttino is looking for. Spurs are seeking an offensive threat to help support Harry Kane this summer transfer window.
For what it’s worth, Pulisic is a Manchester United fan, so if he actually does get the choice as to which team in England he could join, one would assume that he would try to make that happen.
