Somebody pinch Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane because it’s been a dream month for him. Or, as punk rock legends Green Day told us in 2005, “wake me up, when September ends.”
Actually, that song is a bit of a downer, perhaps the happy, upbeat, fast pace of Earth, Wind and Fire’s “September” is the tune about the ninth month of the year that truly encapsulate’s the mood of Harry Kane and Spurs right now.
The 24-year-old Englishman finishes the first autumnal and last of the summer months with an astounding 13 goals (eleven for Spurs, two for England).
Kane is burning up both all opposing defenses and various social media platforms right now, in the wake of his brace today. Spurs would tack on two more goals and utterly destroy newly promoted Huddersfield Town 4-0 today. After the match Kane was asked if he’s ever had a hotter streak during his career.
“Probably not,” Kane said. “It’s probably the best month I’ve had, especially after August. I feel confident when these boys are putting in good crosses and putting in good through balls. I’m just there to put them away. I’m delighted with the win. It’s been a great week for us.”
With Harry Kane being so dominant it’s easy to understand why a.) his teammates are comparing him to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo right now, and b.) he has a bromance going on right now with manager Mauricio Pochettino.
